Beretta Exclusive Evo X

12 EXCLUSIVE EVO X | WALL-HUNG CONDENSING BOILERS A MOR E SUS TA I N A B L E FU T UR E S TA R T S NOW The EXCLUSIVE EVO X range, like all new- generation Beretta boilers, is designed to operate with blends of natural gas and hydrogen - up to a maximum of 20 percent - a first impor tant contribution toward the decarbonization process star ted by the European Union. HYDROGEN USE CYCLE Hydrogen, mixed with natural gas up to a maximum ratio of 20 to 80 percent, makes it possible to generate heat and domestic hot water, helping to reduce emissions*. From the combustion of oxygen and hydrogen, and in the amount used of the latter, water vapor is in fact generated: hydrogen is returned to its main source of origin, water, and reintroduced into nature. * Data from E. A. Polman (2003) "Reduction of CO 2 emissions by adding hydrogen to natural gas", IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D program, report number PH4/24. Variation of Wobbe index and CO 2 reduction as a function of hydrogen content. The hydrogen is presumed to be made by large-scale steam reforming and that CO 2 is captured with a recovery rate of 86,7% of CO 2 . Beretta now aims to use pure hydrogen as an energy source with significantly lower CO 2 emissions than other fuels. To this purpose, the new EXCLUSIVE EVO X range has been tested to operate with 100% hydrogen combustion via a conversion kit, currently under development in our laboratories.
